Raymond Turner is a Neurosurgeon and Neuro-Endovascular Surgeon at Greenville Health System. Dr. Turner completed his undergraduate degree in Biology at Sacred Heart University where he also played collegiate baseball. He went on to complete his medical degree in Poznan, Poland. Trained at the Cleveland Clinic in Neurological Surgery and fellowship trained in Endovascular Neurosurgery, Dr. Turner practiced at MUSC in Charleston SC for over 10 years. Nationally, Dr. Turner also serves as an examiner for the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
An avid researcher with expertise in device development, Dr. Turner has been an invited speaker at over 80 academic engagements and has over 120 peer-reviewed publications. He has participated in over 70 pre-clinical and clinical research studies. Dr. Turner has also been an invited teacher in over 50 hands-on national and international training courses. Outside of practicing medicine, Dr. Turner has been outspoken about the benefits of physical fitness in educating school-aged children, which resulted in him being featured in the award-winning feature length documentary ?The Motivation Factor.?
