For several years, we have participated in the South Carolina Hospital Association’s PricePoint program, which lists hospital charges for inpatient, outpatient and emergency department services. The web tool PricePoint assists patients in identifying and comparing hospital pricing by common health care procedures. This provides the public average charges by hospital that best compare to the amounts on the bill you will receive from us. This program also allows users the opportunity to compare our hospital prices side-by-side with others in the state.
Beginning in January 2019, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) now requires all hospitals to provide a list of their standards charges on their website. You can access Prisma Health–Upstate’s list of standard charges below. This file contains procedure descriptions and the amounts Prisma Health–Upstate charges payors (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance) for a very large number of medical and surgical services, therapies and visit types.
Please note that standard charges shown in the document are not necessarily reflective of the price you will pay for the services provided. Your exact costs depend on your insurance coverage and eligibility for financial assistance.
