Routine appointments may be scheduled by phone or in person following your prior visit. We realize that you or your child can become sick unexpectedly, so we will make every effort to schedule an urgent appointment within 24 hours. We also have extended Saturday hours for sick visits.
In a medical emergency, please call 911. If you have a medical question that occurs after business hours, the answering service will direct your call. A physician or nurse is available after hours for urgent calls.
Newborn care at any GHS hospital is provided by GHS newborn hospitalists. These hospitalists are dedicated to newborn care and will manage any needs of your new baby. They will be present on-site 24 hours, 7 days a week, and will evaluate your baby’s progress regularly. When your baby is ready to go home, the hospitalist team will help you arrange follow-up care with us in the office. At that time, we will have access to your baby’s newborn care and medical information via GHS’ electronic medical records system.
If you have your baby at a hospital other than a GHS facility, we will update your baby’s records on your first visit to our office.
If you or your child needs to be hospitalized for an acute illness, we will refer you to the care of hospitalist physicians at a facility of Greenville Health System. Hospitalists, who specialize in the care of hospitalized adult and pediatric patients, offer immediate, continuous, and high-quality care. They will provide us with regular updates about your diagnosis, treatment plan, and condition. Then, upon discharge from the hospital, you will return to the care of our physicians.
Visits to the nurse are scheduled by appointment for immunizations, weight checks, bilirubin checks (for jaundice), blood pressure checks, B-12 shots, testosterone shots, diabetes or osteoporosis teaching, and medication assistance programs.
You may schedule a complimentary prenatal consultation before the birth of your child with one of our physicians. We will be happy to give you a tour of our office and discuss our practice, newborn issues, and what to expect following the birth of your child.
Please ask for refill requests at your visit with the doctor. We do not accept refill requests from pharmacies. Because of an overwhelming number of call-in requests for refills, we may charge for calls requesting refills of routine medications. Please allow 48 hours for completion of refill requests.
Please allow three business days for processing.
A processing fee will be applied for special forms and correspondence occurring outside of your regular visits, including but not limited to requests related to life insurance, employment, sports/physicals, disability, driver’s licenses, nursing home and assisted living admission forms, and FMLA. Please allow 7-10 days for completion of any forms.
The practice participates in most major insurance plans and Medicare. Claims will be filed by the practice. The patient is responsible for any charges not covered by insurance.
Cash, checks, and most major credit and debit cards are accepted.
