The Community Health Needs Assessment serves as an important tool in identifying the health needs of the Upstate community. The research and data collected assists in prioritizing health needs in the communities GHS serves. This process ensures proper allocation of resources dedicated to the needs that would benefit most from a GHS program intervention.
The assessment encompasses the use of both qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The qualitative data was obtained through interviews, surveys, and focus group sessions. The stakeholders involved in providing input included citizens from across the Upstate, local business leaders, and organizations dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the community. The qualitative research focuses on stakeholder perceptions on health and health services in the community. The quantitative data includes the most up-to-date indicators of health from a variety of local and national resources. In the analysis of quantitative data, we looked at changes over time when possible and, in some instances, bench-marked indicators to statewide and national data sets.
