Safe Kids Upstate (serving Greenville, Oconee and Pickens counties) is led by Prisma Health Children’s Hospital. Its mission is to reduce unintentional injury to children, thereby keeping children out of the emergency room. Safe Kids Upstate provides public education and safety devices throughout the community. In addition, the organization advocates for laws and policies to keep South Carolina’s children injury-free. Since Safe Kids Upstate began serving Oconee County, unintentional injury to children has declined by 17 percent countywide.
