The Life Center pool is a 25-meter, salt-chlorinated indoor swimming pool that is divided into three lap lanes and an open swim area. The three lap lanes are always available for continuous lap swimming, while the open swim area is used for water fitness classes, swimming lessons, aquatic physical therapy, and free swim. The pool temperature is maintained at 84-86 degrees to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for lap swimmers and water exercisers alike.
A variety of aquatics programs are available to members and non-members, including private and group swimming lessons for children and adults, water fitness and arthritis aquatics classes.
To learn more about group swimming lessons, view the 2018 summer swimming lesson schedule. For information on private and adult swimming lessons, contact Bailey Kendrick, Aquatics Coordinator, at 864-455-4035 or email@example.com.
For water fitness and arthritis aquatics class times, refer to the Group Fitness Class Schedule.
Patrons are expected to comply with all posted pool rules at all times. Proper swimwear is required–no cutoff material, please. Aqua shoes are permitted, so long as the shoes have not been worn outdoors. Swimmers should rinse before entering the pool and refrain from using soap/shampoo at the pool shower. Children under the age of 3 are required to wear swim diapers. Children under the age of 14 are not allowed in water fitness classes and cannot be left unattended anywhere in the pool area or locker rooms. Food and beverage (other than water) is not permitted on the pool deck. No rafts or flotation devices, other than U.S. Coast Guard approved life vests, are permitted in the pool.
3 lap lanes are available from the time the Prisma Health Life Center opens until 10 minutes prior to closing. Two or more people can swim in each lap lane. Please wait until a swimmer stops to rest before asking to share the lane. Lap lanes are for continuous lap swimming only; water walking, water aerobics, and recreational play should take place in the open swim area.
Open swim, or free swim, is permitted in the open swim area anytime during business hours that a water fitness class or a specially event is not taking place. The Life Center pool is a non-lifeguarded pool, and patrons are encouraged to use caution at all times and swim with a buddy. Children under the age of 14 are not to be left unattended anywhere in the pool area or locker rooms. Children are not permitted to play in or hang on the lap lanes.
