Aquatics

H2O Fitness

A variety of water fitness programs are available to members and non-members, including group swimming lessons for children and adults, water aerobics and arthritis aquatics.

Please refer to the Group Fitness Class Schedule for class times. The open area may be used during swimming lessons and other times. Private swim lessons may be conducted by an instructor during water aerobic classes from the flag poles to the walls, which will not conflict with the water aerobic participants. Swim instructors may be in the beginner lap lane instructing a Level III or higher student while members are swimming laps. No food or beverage (other than water) allowed on pool deck.

Swimming Pool Policy

Members should rinse before entering the pool and refrain from using soap/shampoo at the pool shower. Three lap lanes always are open for continuous swimming. Two or more people can swim in each lap lane. Please wait until the swimmer stops to rest before asking to share the lane. If the open swim area is not congested, lap swimming can occur in the fourth and fifth lanes. Children are not allowed to play in lap lanes.

Lap Swim Policy

  • 3 lap lanes are available from the time the GHS Life Center opens until 10 minutes prior to closing.  With the exception of special events and programs.
  • Lap lanes are for continuous lap swimming only.  Walking, water aerobics, or playing with children is not allowed in the lap lanes.

Open Swim Policy

  • Children under the age of 14 are not allowed in water fitness classes and cannot be left unattended anywhere in the pool area or locker rooms.
  • Open swim is not available during water aerobics classes
