Laurens County Memorial Hospital’s 14-bed Medicare skilled nursing facility, located on the third floor, provides a stable and therapeutic environment in which patients can recover over a short-term period. Admissions to the unit include patients who demonstrate a high rehabilitation potential and can usually be discharged within 21 days or less.
The goal of the staff is to provide active treatment services within a structured, therapeutic environment. These services, which include daily nursing care by registered nurses and rehabilitative therapy, are intended to facilitate the recovery and return of each patient back to their home environment. The unit provides Medicare-certified services and will work with patients who have private insurance to assure third-party payment for the services provided in the unit. TLC includes 14 private rooms, each equipped with a private bath, telephone and television, plus an activities room/dining area, and physical therapy/occupational/speech therapy center.
