Greer I-C.A.R.E. Unit

The Infusion Central Admission/Registration Entry (I-C.A.R.E.) Unit of Greer Memorial Hospital is a multifaceted patient service area. Located on the first floor bed tower of the hospital, the I-C.A.R.E. Unit provides the following services:

  • Medication administration and infusion therapy for outpatients
  • Blood transfusions
  • Inpatient care

Staffed with two registered nurses and a unit secretary, the I-C.A.R.E. Unit provides initial assessment and early intervention for patients referred from a physician for observation status at, or inpatient admission to, Greer Memorial Hospital. The I-C.A.R.E. Unit is based on patient-centered activity and outcome-driven standards of clinical care. It expedites entry into the system, including entry from the Emergency Department to the acute care hospital.

Other therapies offered include:

  • Blood transfusions
  • IV fluids
  • PICC line insertions
  • Epogen injections
  • Neupogen injections
  • Reclast IV infusion
