Prisma Health’s Greenville Memorial Medical Campus uses Fast Pass Visitor Management to ensure the safety of patients, visitors and staff. Currently, those who enter the emergency room at any hour of the day or who enter the main entrance of Greenville Memorial Hospital between the hours of 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. are asked to show a driver’s license or other government-issued photo ID. (ID is not required for children under 15; however, they must be accompanied by an adult.) Information from this ID is entered into the Fast Pass system, and a temporary badge containing the individual’s name, photo, destination in the hospital and expiration date is created.
Visitors to the fifth and sixth floors of Children’s Hospital and the sixth floor of Greenville Memorial Hospital are required to obtain and wear a pink-colored Fast Pass at all hours of the day. A pink Fast Pass can be obtained at the visitor’s desk inside the Heart Institute entrance at all hours of the day and the visitors’ desk inside the main entrance of Greenville Memorial between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.
The Fast Pass system is intended to enhance security and protect patients, visitors and staff. It is also considered best practice for hospitals.
