Michelle Taylor Smith, vice president of patient care services, chief nursing officer and chief experience officer for Greenville Health System, will join industry leaders and influencers at the U.S. News Hospital of Tomorrow forum. Smith will deliver her presentation, “Improving the Patient Experience,” on October 19, 2015.
“Since 2013 the U.S. News Hospital of Tomorrow forum has brought industry leaders together to advance knowledge within health systems, hospitals and government. We are thrilled to have Michelle join us in our efforts,” said Brian Kelly, editor and chief content officer of U.S. News.
Patient experience has emerged as a critical concern of hospital and health care executives, physicians and nurses, among others. Smith will focus on patient satisfaction scores, which account for 30 percent of each hospital’s grade under Medicare’s value-based purchasing standards.
Smith is vice president of patient care services, chief nursing officer and chief experience officer for Greenville Health System. She is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership, while ensuring a high level of quality, safe and patient-centered care throughout a nearly 15,000-employee, seven-hospital system.
The Hospital of Tomorrow forum will take place October 18-20 in Washington, D.C. at the Renaissance Downtown. The forum will explore the intersection of health care, policy and technology. Executives from hospitals, health systems and government will advance their knowledge of topics such as precision medicine, telehealth, accountable care organizations, value-based care and more.
