Obstetricians and Gynecologists (Ob/Gyns) are experts in the female reproductive system who are trained to care for women during pregnancy and childbirth, as well as manage any disorders of the female reproductive system. Ob/GYNs attend four years of medical school, followed by a three year residency. But, their residency training focuses on pregnancy, childbirth, and the medical and surgical management of problems of the female reproductive system. Greenville Health System has many skilled Ob/Gyns that are available to care for your needs from adolescents beyond menopause. Women’s Specialty Care
Ob/Gyn Specialists take additional training and years of study so they can cater to women who have specific female health concerns including, but not limited to: Bone health, Breast health, Gynecologic cancers, High risk pregnancy, Fecal and urinary incontinence, Infertility and Sexual health.
Some of our specialty practices require a referral by your primary care physician, while others do not. Please consult the specialty practice for information about the referral process or to schedule an appointment if a referral is not required.
