You need not walk alone
Bereavement Services Support Group offers support for families grieving the loss of a baby through miscarriage, stillbirth or newborn death. If you have lost a baby, you are experiencing very real sorrow and grief. This is an emotional time, and your needs are special.
Many will try to comfort you, but the pain remains. You need someone who knows what you are going through—someone who has been there, who knows how to listen. Sharing with other couples who have experienced similar pain can help you adjust to life without your much-wanted and expected baby. And you, in turn, will help other parents in their grief.
Our support group is a self-help tool, not a therapy group. There is no fee to attend. You may come to any meeting, no matter how recently or how long ago your baby passed away.
Meetings, often with guest speakers, include these topics …
- Making It Through the Holidays
- Grieving Grandparents
- When to Start Trying Again
- Subsequent Pregnancy
- Incongruent Grief
- Anger in Grief
- Family and Friends’ Reaction to Loss
Group activities help you hold onto precious memories of your baby:
- Creating a bracelet
- Creating a lanyard
- Painting a tile or an ornament
- Annual Walk to Remember (October)
- Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day (October 15)
