No, you do not have to be a current patient of Greenville Health System to take advantage of this service.
We believe that your healthcare needs are unique. All SmartExams are reviewed by licensed GHS providers who are part of your care team. They will provide you with a personalized diagnosis and treatment plan that they’ve tailored to your unique symptoms and condition.
You never need to use video for a SmartExam. For some conditions, we may want to see a picture to help us understand what’s going on. If needed, you can use pictures from your mobile device or your computer.
Because we want to help you feel better faster, and your doctor isn’t always available at the moment that you need care, we can’t guarantee you’ll be treated by your doctor. We know the trust you put in us is important. You’ll always be treated by a licensed GHS provider who is part of your care team. We also always make sure that your SmartExam is part of your medical record, and that your doctor sees what care you’re receiving.
The cost for a diagnosis and treatment plan is $20.
Payment is easy. Just enter your credit card or debit card information. We’ll charge your card and send you a receipt. You only pay if we can treat your condition.
Yes, you can enter your HSA card number when you submit payment during checkout.
We suggest a loadable gift credit card.
If you believe this service is covered by your insurance plan, you may submit a claim to your insurance company to pursue reimbursement. Be aware that if this is not a covered service, the cost you pay during checkout will not count toward your deductible or out-of-pocket maximum. This service is not covered by Medicare or Medicaid.
Never. Our goal is to help you get easy access to high-quality, affordable care. If it turns out that we can’t treat you through a SmartExam, there’s no charge to you. If your condition requires an in-person visit, we can help locate a provider for you at no charge.
Setting up an account is easy. After you submit your information (either online or by phone), you will receive an email within about 15 minutes that lets you know your account is active and that you can begin your SmartExam.
Once you’ve created an account, it typically takes between five and 10 minutes to complete the SmartExam. Just like when you come in to the doctor’s office, we ask different questions based on your unique symptoms and condition, so the actual time it takes to finish will depend on your unique circumstances.
Yes. Your provider can order prescription medications for you if they’re needed, and send the prescriptions directly to the pharmacy of your choice.
No, you will pay for your prescription at the pharmacy.
Yes. That’s one of the unique values of getting care through the SmartExam service. Unlike the care you get from some online care companies, we make sure all your care is coordinated with your overall healthcare needs, and it’s always included in your GHS electronic medical record (MyChart).
