Dr. Drew Goldsmith
Dr. Goldsmith grew up in Augusta, Georgia and completed his undergraduate study at the University of Georgia where he graduated with Honors in 2003. His Bachelors of Science degree was composed of biology, exercise science, and pharmacology. He received his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in 2008 and received the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award.
He went on to residency in the Internal Medicine-Pediatrics program with Greenville Health System, where he served as chief resident. He is board certified in both Pediatrics and Internal Medicine.
Drew and his wife, Michelle, have three young boys. He is especially interested in newborn care, preventive medicine, adolescent care, and medical missions. He has served communities in Ghana, Haiti, Mexico, and Trinidad. Drew enjoys being involved with his church, spending time with his family, and exercising.
Dr. Gregg Johnson
Dr. Johnson, of Summerville, SC, studied biochemistry as part of the Clemson University Calhoun Honors College. Graduating summa cum laude, he proceeded to the Medical University of South Carolina where he served as Student Government Association president. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine following training in those disciplines at Greenville Health System.
Now he is excited to serve with Heritage Pediatrics & Internal Medicine in Wren. His medical interests include newborn care, infectious disease, adoption and travel medicine, preventative care and healthy lifestyles.
Gregg and his wife, Jeanne, call the Upstate home and enjoy hiking the hills, and the many opportunities our city has to offer. As part of an international family, Gregg has interest in languages, foreign cultures, and medical work abroad.
Dr. Stephen Briggs
Dr. Briggs graduated magna cum laude from Samford University, in Birmingham, Alabama, with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He is a graduate of University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine–Pediatrics residency at Greenville Health System. He is board certified in both Pediatrics and Internal Medicine.
He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Physicians, and the Christian Medical & Dental Association.
Dr. Briggs takes a special interest in newborn care, preventive care, sports medicine, and hypertension. Dr. Briggs has participated in medical missions in the Dominican Republic, Peru, and Trinidad.
Along with his wife Lane and their 2 children, Dr. Briggs enjoys the outdoors. He is also an avid sports fan and likes to talk sports with anyone who will listen.
Dr. Bernadette Wood
Dr. Wood grew up in Columbus, Georgia and completed her undergraduate degree at Wofford College where she graduated Cum Lade in 2007. She earned her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia in 2013 and received awards for both the most outstanding medical student for Internal Medicine and Pediatrics respectively.
She went on to residency in the Internal Medicine-Pediatrics program with Greenville Health System, where she served as chief resident.
Dr. Wood takes a special interest in newborn care, child development, preventative health care and exercise as medicine.
Dr. Wood and her husband, Shiel, have one daughter, Fay. She enjoys exercising, spending time with family, and cheering on the Wofford Terriers football team where Shiel is a member of the coaching staff.
Meet the Office Team
Haley was born and raised in Piedmont, SC. She enjoys Clemson football, traveling and spending time with her family. She has worked in the medical field since 2014, mostly in the hospital setting, and is excited to be growing in her knowledge of physician practice operations.
Jennifer was born in Erwin, NC. She currently lives in Williamston with her husband, Carson, and daughter, Hailey. They have a Westie named Josie and two chickens. She has many years’ experience working in medical practices, but her favorite setting is pediatrics. She enjoys being at the lake, arts & crafts and spending time with family and friends.
Marla was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana but was raised in Greenville. She earned a degree in Health Information Management from Greenville Technical College. She and her husband, Craig, have one daughter. They enjoy hiking, cooking and eating with family.
Whitney was born and raised in Piedmont, SC. She is currently studying to complete her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Management. She lives in Piedmont with her husband, Ryan, and their two small children. In addition to making memories with her family, Whitney enjoys cheering on the New York Yankees and Clemson Tigers!
Emily was born and raised in Easley, South Carolina, and graduated from Tri-County Technical College with an Associate’s degree in business management. In her free time, Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also loves staying active and spending time outdoors.
Meet the Clinical Team
Leah and her husband Jared, and their Cockapoo, Bella, live in Simpsonville, SC. She is a graduate of The University of South Carolina, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Nursing. She also works on the Family Beginnings floor at Greenville Health System. Leah and her husband are expecting their first child in June 2015. She loves spending time with family and friends and traveling.
Heather was born and raised in Honea Path. She graduated from Greenville Tech in 2016 as a CMA. She has a shih tzu named Bentley. She enjoys being outdoors, traveling, hiking and fishing. She also loves spending time with family and friends.
After completing her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of South Carolina – Upstate, Amanda gained experience at hospice care and as an in-patient Pediatrics nurse with GHS Children’s Hospital. Amanda and her husband Christopher currently live in Greenville and have a daughter, Emerson. Amanda enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.
Whitney was born and raised in Easley, where she currently resides with her husband and son. She is a graduate of Greenville Technical College with a degree in Nursing. She has many years of experience in the Healthcare field where she has spent most of her time in a community care residential facility (CCRF). She enjoys being outside, going to church and spending time with family.
Lauren was born and raised in Anderson, SC. She graduated with her bachelor’s in nursing from Clemson University in 2007. She has experience in various areas of both inpatient and outpatient nursing. Lauren and her husband, Cliff, currently live in Clemson with their four kids. She loves spending time with friends and family, decorating, and visiting the beach.
Keri was born and raised in Louisiana. After moving to South Carolina, she attended Greenville Technical College, where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology. She currently lives in Williamston with her husband Jason and her cat, Vader. She enjoys camping, Clemson football games, and spending time with family and friends.
Lauren graduated from Furman University and then spent a summer in Kenya working with a medical missionary in the slums of Nairobi. She completed her nursing program at the Medical College of Georgia and has experience in both the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as well as outpatient pediatrics.
Kaci earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Clemson University and has experience as an in-patient pediatric nurse. Kaci and her husband Paul live in Greenville with their dog, Boozer. She enjoys reading, running, and spending time with family and friends. Kaci is excited to be a part of the Heritage Team.
Shannon is a recent graduate, joining Heritage Pediatrics & Internal Medicine-Wren as her first position into the medical field. She was born in Greenville and raised in Easley. She enjoys spending time with her kids, watching Clemson football and vacationing at the beach.
Krista was born and raised in Easley, where she now lives with her husband, Eddie, and son, Cash. She earned her certificate as a Certified Medical Assistant and Certified Phlebotomy Technician from Virginia College. Krista’s love for pediatric medicine started when Cash was admitted to the NICU at GHS Children’s Hospital. She enjoys Clemson football and baseball, helping with gymnastics competitions, and spending time with her family.
Holly is from Belton where she lives with her husband, Matthew and cockapoo, Sadie. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of South Carolina. Before working at Heritage, she served as an inpatient pediatric nurse. Outside of work, she enjoys shopping for antiques, attending USC footballs and spending time outdoors. Holly and Matthew are very excited as they are expecting their first child in March of 2018.
Savannah was born and raised in Fountain Inn, SC. In 2015, she graduated from Greenville Technical College as a CMA. In her free time, she and her husband, Aaron, enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, being outside, and trail riding with their four-wheelers.
Amanda is originally from Greenville, but she grew up in Canada. She graduated with her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Bob Jones University in 2002, and will complete her Master’s in Nursing Leadership from Western Governor’s University this spring. She has many years of healthcare experience in both ER management and hospital supervision. She currently lives on a small farm in Pickens with her husband and three children, and enjoys all of the great quality family time that come with the kids’ sports and activities.
