Office policies

To limit wait times, please call ahead to make an appointment with one of our physicians or physician assistants. If you need an urgent appointment, call as early as possible in the morning so we can try to work you in the same day.

Please make appointments for physicals, surgical procedures and routine exams at least two weeks in advance.

Missed appointments

If you cannot keep an appointment, notify the office at least 24 hours in advance. A $25 no-show fee may be charged when appointments are not canceled in time.

Emergencies/urgent care

For all medical emergencies, please call 911. If you need to speak with a doctor after hours, please call 864-454-2700 for instructions on reaching our on-call physician.

For non-emergencies when the office is closed, your doctor might suggest one of  Prisma Health’s five MD360® Convenient Care locations, which are open with extended hours every day on a walk-in basis.

Medical questions

Our professional staff is happy to assist you with any questions you might have throughout the day. Questions that require a response from our doctors or physician assistants may take up to 24 hours to answer and return. Please inform us if you have an urgent request.

Hospital coverage

If you need to be hospitalized, we will refer you to the care of physicians in the Hospitalist Program at a Prisma Health facility. These doctors specialize in hospitalized patients and offer immediate, high-quality, continuous care.

Hospitalists also provide us with regular updates on your condition. Then, upon discharge, you return to the care of your family physician. In some cases, upon patient request, we will refer you to another inpatient hospital.

Prescription refills

Please ask for refills at your visit with the doctor. Prescriptions written with refills may be on hold at the pharmacy. Please check with the pharmacy before calling the office to see if a refill is available.

Some prescriptions require a return visit to see the doctor. We do charge for calls requesting refills of routine medications (there is no additional charge for multiple medications).

Special forms and correspondence

A processing fee may be applied for special forms and correspondence including, but not limited to, requests related to life insurance, employment, sports/physicals, disability, driver’s licenses, nursing home and assisted living admission forms, and FMLA.

Insurance and payment policy

Our practice participates in most major insurance plans and Medicare. Claims will be filed by the practice. Patients are responsible for any changes not covered by insurance.

For your convenience, our office accepts cash, checks, and most major credit and debit cards.

Our practice is an NCQA-Recognized Patient-Centered Medical Home!
