Because we respect your time, we sincerely attempt to stay on schedule. Occasionally we experience unforeseen problems and emergencies. Whenever possible, we will keep you informed of any delays and will ask your preference of either waiting or rescheduling your appointment.
We also make every effort to see “same day” patients who do not have an appointment. We can do this by fitting in patients between or after appointments which may require a longer wait.
If we are seeing you for the first time, your initial visit will include a complete medical work-up. This will include your past medical history, medications, hospitalizations, and surgical history. This visit requires more time than a regular appointment.
We strive to provide to you excellent medical care including follow-up visits based on your specific medical needs. In an effort to see all patients for their healthcare needs, we ask that you give us at least a 24-hour notice if you need to cancel or change an appointment. Lack of notification could result in a fee for the appointment time. If we have patients that are not able to keep appointment times and do not notify us of it, we have a policy to dismiss patients who have three consecutive missed scheduled appointments without notification.
Many urgent problems can be seen in the office during regular office hours. However, should your emergency occur after hours or during the weekend, our answering service will take your information and immediately contact the physician or nurse practitioner on call. In the event of a life-threatening emergency, call Emergency Medical Services at 9-1-1, or go directly to the closest Emergency Room.
Prescription medications will not be called in after regular business hours.
Fees and Insurance
We accept most insurance plans including Medicare and Medicaid. If you have a question about our fees or about your bill, contact our office at (864) 843-5605.
Payment is due when services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept cash, checks, and most credit cards. We will help you process your insurance claims for reimbursement by providing an itemized statement with all necessary information needed by your insurance carrier. In some cases, we accept assignment of benefits and will file your insurance for you. It is your responsibility to fully understand your coverage benefits and to verify that we are listed as an approved provider prior to scheduling an appointment.
Liberty Family Care provides services on a free or reduced fee schedule basis to individuals at or below 200% of the federal poverty level. Liberty Family Care does not discriminate in the provision of services to individuals based on their inability to pay, race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, or sexual orientation. No individual will be denied access to services due to inability to pay or method of payment. We accept Medicare, Medicaid, and Healthy Connections.
Please schedule a routine follow-up appointment to request any prescription refill. It is important to have a routine examination for any problem requiring a prescription medication. Please make your prescription and renewal requests during regular office hours when your chart is available. We are not able to call in prescriptions after regular business hours. Please allow a 24-hour notice on all prescription refills. If you call in your request, please have available the name of your medication, how you are taking it, and the name and telephone number of your pharmacy.
