We are prepared to care for you

If you are a patient with an appointment, our office will call you and together we will determine how best to conduct your appointment – in-person, over the phone, by video or rescheduled for a later date.

If you are a patient without an appointment and need care, or if you’re not a patient and need care – please call the office and together we will determine the best course of treatment for you.

Established in 1994, Greer Family Medicine is a family of exceptional doctors who value patient and community health. Here you will find physicians who know you on a first-name basis and who take the time to answer your questions and address your concerns. Two board-certified family physicians and a physician assistant provide pediatric, adolescent and adult medicine services, including the following:

  • Diabetic and hypertension care
  • Pediatric care, including well visits for newborns, infants and children
  • Comprehensive physical exams
  • Women’s health care, including Pap smears
  • Cancer screenings
  • Laboratory services

We welcome new patients! To make an appointment, call (864) 879-8886.
We see patients by appointment, except for medical emergencies. If you need an urgent appointment, please call the office and we will make every effort to see you the same day.

Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment so that our front office and clinical staff may prepare for your visit with the doctor. If you arrive after your scheduled appointment time, we may ask that you reschedule your appointment for another day.

Missed appointments

If you are unable to keep an appointment, we request that you notify the office 24 hours in advance. Missed appointments may result in a fee. Our clinical staff is available to answer questions and help you decide if you need an appointment. A staff member will return all calls made before 2:00 p.m. on the same business day. Our staff may not be able to return routine calls received after 2:00 p.m. until the following day.

After hours

Our physicians are available for after-hours emergency calls. For all medical emergencies, please call 911.

Medical questions

We request that routine questions be directed to the clinical staff during office hours.

Hospital coverage

Patients who are admitted to the hospital for treatment will be cared for by Prisma Health hospitalists (the inpatient physician team).

Nurse visits

Visits to the nurse are scheduled by appointment for immunizations, weight checks, blood pressure checks, B-12 shots, testosterone shots, cardiac event monitors, diabetes and/or porosis education and medication assistance programs.


Prescriptions and prescription refills will be given at your office visit. If you need a refill between visits, please call us during office hours. We will need two business days to process requests for prescription refills. We are unable to refill routine prescriptions after hours or on weekends: The physician on-call after office hours may not have access to your medical record and will not be able to refill routine prescriptions.

Special forms and correspondence

A processing fee will be applied for special forms and correspondence, including but not limited to requests related to life insurance, employment, sports/physicals, disability, driver’s licenses, nursing home and assisted living admission forms, and FMLA.

Insurance and payment policy

Our office will assist you in filing claims with your insurance company. Payment for co-payments and deductibles must be made at the time of your visit. Please be familiar with your insurance benefits and requirements. There may be financial penalties from your insurance company if you use an unapproved location for laboratory tests or fail to obtain appropriate authorizations. Please notify our office with any changes to your insurance, address, phone number or personal information.
