  • FACT Is the largest cancer program in South Carolina
  • FACT Has more than 70 cancer oncologists: 18 medical oncologists, 8 radiology oncologists, 3 gynecologic oncologists, 7 pediatric oncologists, 35 cancer surgeons and 7 cancer interventional radiologists. Cancer physicians teach at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville.
  • FACT Is one of only two NCI programs in South Carolina; the only NCI site earning the award of Community NCORP and 1 of only 34 in the nation. NCI designations over the years: 1988 High Priority, 1995-2014 CCOP, 2014 NCORP; an official NCI organization for 29 years; NCI NCORP grant for $6.7 million, the largest in Prisma Health history
  • FACT Provides NCI-quality cancer services in five counties of the Upstate
  • FACT Offers over 300 active clinical trials for patients with cancer
  • FACT Published 68 academic and research papers in 2016
  • FACT Is staffed with cancer experts who serve on national committees, signifying national endorsement and connectivity
  • FACT Recruited Greenville’s first cancer specialist, Dr. Lewis Terry (9/13/71)
  • FACT Was the region’s first cancer treatment center (established in 1977)
  • FACT Opened the state-of-the-art McCrary Blood and Marrow Transplant Unit (inpatient) in 2017
  • FACT Performed the region’s first blood and marrow transplant in 1992
  • FACT Has a transplant service that is the only collection site in the Upstate for the National Marrow and Donor Program (NMDP/Be The Match).
  • FACT Center for Integrative Oncology and Survivorship (CIOS) provides a holistic approach to increase quality of life and decrease potential cancer risks, serving as a model for other cancer centers in the nation
  • FACT Partners with the Human Performance Lab, part of the national Exercise is Medicine, the first HPL in the nation to be fully embedded into a cancer research and treatment program
