Since 2012, GHS has been named one of the top 50 companies for diverse managers and women to work by Diversity MBA Magazine. GHS is the only healthcare provider in the state to make the list. Companies included in this ranking have established programs that create access for women and minorities to move into top leadership roles. In 2015, GHS was also recognized for being in the Top 10 Best in Class Category for: Accountability and Board Diversity.
Since 2012, GHS has been named a National Leader in Healthcare Equality by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC). The Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) is the national Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) benchmarking tool that evaluates healthcare facilities’ policies and practices related to the equity and inclusion of their LGBT patients, visitors and employees. The HEI 2014 evaluates a total of 1504 healthcare facilities nationwide.
The Institute for Diversity in Health Management has named GHS a Top 10 Best in Class. The Institute for Diversity in Health Management works closely with health services organizations and educators to expand leadership opportunities for ethnic minorities in health services management. The Institute’s mission is to increase the number of minorities in health services administration to better reflect the increasingly diverse communities they serve, and to improve opportunities for professionals already in the health care field.
The ATHENA Organizational Leadership Award® is presented at the Greenville Chamber of Commerce’s ATHENA Leadership Symposium to an organization for supporting and developing women leaders by creating an organizational culture that encourages women employees to achieve their full leadership potential or gives back to the larger community of women or girls by providing and supporting leadership development opportunities and initiatives. GHS received this award in 2015.
Greenville Society for Human Resource Management (GSHRM) named GHS the Diversity and Inclusion Large Business Award recipient in 2015. The award acknowledges and honors the efforts of organizations in the Greenville area business community who strive to promote diversity and understanding in its multitude of forms. The award is given based on CEO commitment, human capital, corporate and organizational communications, and supplier diversity.
The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce’s South Carolina Diversity Council awarded GHS with the Excellence in Workplace Diversity Award in 2002.
In 2008, the MLK Dream Weekend awarded GHS the Champion of Diversity Award for our organizational commitment to diversity through structure, hiring & promotion practices, minority contracts, community investments and civic involvement.
The Minority Economic Development Institute, Inc. presented GHS with the Corporate Advocacy Award in 2008 for our efforts in furthering supplier diversity.
