Wound Care Advantage and Hyperbaric Medicine Program

Vascular Health Alliance of Greenville Health System has partnered with Wound Care Advantage to develop a Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine program in conjunction with its existing vascular services.

The addition of a comprehensive wound care program further positions Greenville Hospital System as a leader in the healthcare industry and validates the commitment to meeting the unique needs of the local community in addition to improving clinical outcomes.

The Wound Care Program is a component of the Institute for Vascular Health and is located on the Patewood Campus on the 3rd floor of Patewood Building C.

The philosophy of our program is to provide the highest quality of care to the patient, with dignity and respect for the patient and families. The Wound Care Advantage allows patients to achieve greater healing results through comprehensive wound care and, if needed, hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

The outpatient program offers care to patients with non-healing wounds on an outpatient basis.

Mainstays of standard wound care include regular cleaning and debridement; topical use of antimicrobials and other medications; application of sterile dressings.  Wounds that do not respond to standard care in several weeks require more advanced measures.   Wound Care Advantage offers these advanced measures for your patients.

Patients are self-referred or referred by a physician.  Our wound care staff, led by John York, MD, a board certified vascular surgeon, is committed in providing wound care expertise to patients.  Our staff works in conjunction with the referring physician, keeping them updated on the patients’ progress.  The patient will continue seeing their primary care physician for additional medical care.
