The mission of the Greenville Health System—Vascular Health Alliance's Vascular Medicine Fellowship is to train physicians in the art and science of the rapidly expanding field of vascular medicine so that they may pursue a career in clinical vascular medicine or further their education in the academic arena.
This training will be accomplished during a one year program which will provide comprehensive clinical training in the multiple areas of vascular medicine. The curriculum will provide exposure and education in the evaluation and treatment of all forms of arterial and lymphatic disorders, cardiovascular risk factor management, thrombophilic disorders, phlebology, and wound care.
The training is multi-disciplinary and takes advantage of the individual strengths and interests of the faculty members. Upon completion of the program, the fellow will be thoroughly competent in all phases of vascular medicine and will be equipped to practice as a qualified specialist in this field or further their academic career in vascular medicine research. Additionally, the trainee will be expected to have the knowledge needed to sit and pass the vascular medicine board examination (established by the American Board of Vascular Medicine).
