UPLIFT Program

UPLIFT is a safe patient handling program for Greenville Health System (GHS) that began as a pilot project in 2004. The program has since been rolled out to all GHS acute care facilities. The purpose of implementing the program as best practice is to provide a method to move, lift and transfer patients with less exertion, thereby keeping staff and patients safe and improving patient outcomes. We have achieved outstanding results in reduction of employee injuries. A full-time UPLIFT coordinator RN with a background in occupational health oversees this program.
