Dr. Cassas is a sports medicine specialist whose emphasis is the non-operative care of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions encountered in either the weekend warrior or elite athlete. Dr. Cassas specializes in the care of endurance athletes, athletes with concussions, and overuse injuries. Dr. Cassas is a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno and the University of Nevada School of Medicine. While in Texas Dr. Cassas completed a surgical internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital, a family medicine residency at St. Paul Hospital, and a sports medicine fellowship with Methodist Hospitals of Dallas. Dr. Cassas has served as a team physician for USC Upstate, North Greenville University, and Greenville county schools. He has also served as race physician for the US PRO Cycling Championships held in Greenville SC. He is a member of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine and the American College of Sports Medicine.

Sean T. Bryan, M.D.
Dr. Sean Bryan is the Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at Greenville Health System. He was born, raised and completed all of his formal schooling and medical training in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Temple University School of Medicine in 1995, completed his Family Medicine Residency at Chestnut Hill Hospital in 1998, and completed his Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at Jefferson Medical College in 1999. His career in academic medicine began in the summer of 1999 when he moved to Albany, Georgia to join the Southwest Georgia Family Medicine Residency as an entry level faculty member. There he started and directed a Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship, was promoted to Family Medicine Residency Director, and directed both programs for four years. While in Georgia, Dr. Bryan also completed the AFMRD's prestigious National Institute for Program Director Development Fellowship and served as elected Chair of the Department of Family Medicine at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. He left Albany in 2008 for Clearwater, Florida to join the University of South Florida - Morton Plant Mease Family Medicine Residency as Program Director, started a second Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship there in 2009, and directed both programs until March of 2013. While in Clearwater, he completed a two-year term on the Executive Board of the Southeast Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine and served on the Board of Directors of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine. He also served as a medical team physician for the Philadelphia Phillies, Clearwater Threshers, Tampa Bay Storm, University of South Florida Athletics, and multiple Pinellas County high schools.
Dr. Bryan currently serves on the editorial board for Sports Health: A Multidisciplinary Approach and as a section editor for Current Sports Medicine Reports. He is an active member of multiple professional organizations including the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Institute for Ultrasound in Medicine, and the American College of Physician Executives. He's given numerous scientific presentations at the state, regional and national levels; co-authored a book chapter and several articles published in peer-reviewed medical journals; and been included in the Best Doctors in America® database since 2009.
On a personal note, Dr. Bryan lives in the Greenville area with his wife and two children. Dr. Bryan's wife is a successful realtor and also enjoys interior designing. Both of their children are avid soccer players. In his spare time, Dr. Bryan enjoys golfing, lifting weights, shooting baskets and billiards, traveling, sporting events, rock concerts, musicals and comedy.

W. Franklin Sease, Jr., M.D.

Dr. Sease practices primary care sports medicine. He focuses on non-operative care of musculoskeletal conditions and sports injury or illness. His treatment plans are centered on keeping people active through illness and injury.
Dr. Sease is a native of South Carolina. He received both his bachelor's degree and medical degree from The University of South Carolina. After a residency in family medicine (Spartanburg, SC), he continued his post graduate medical education at The University of Pittsburgh where he completed fellowships in sports medicine as well as faculty development (academic medicine). Prior to joining Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas he was in private practice in Asheville, NC.
Dr. Sease is board certified in family medicine and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in sports medicine. He enjoys treating athletes and performers of all levels, with special interests in treating endurance athletes, golfers, and pediatrics.

Timothy Dancy, M.D.
Assistant Program Director
Dr. Dancy is a sports medicine specialist with expertise in the non-operative care of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal conditions. A graduate of Davidson College, he received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. He then received advanced training as a fellow in primary care sports medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and holds a Certificate of Added Qualifications in sports medicine. Dr. Dancy comes to SHCC from McLeod Family and Sports Medicine in Florence, where he practiced medicine, taught sports medicine in the McLeod residency program, and served as head team physician for Francis Marion University and the Florence Redwolves baseball team, Phantom football team and area high schools.

Matthew Baird, M.D.
Dr. Baird is an emergency and sports medicine physician who joined the SHCC in August of 2011. He attended Dartmouth Medical School and completed his emergency medicine residency at the University of Virginia. He went on to complete his sports medicine fellowship at the University of Arizona where he served as a team physician for the U of A athletics program, the Arizona Diamondbacks, and various high school athletic programs. Prior to moving to the Upstate he practiced as an emergency physician in central Virginia.
Dr. Baird is board certified in emergency medicine with a CAQ in primary care sports medicine. He has specific interests in non-surgical musculoskeletal care, emergency preparedness, airway management, and mass event coverage. He currently lives in Greer with his wife, Sara.

Michelle Wilson, M.D.
Dr. Wilson completed her undergraduate work at Liberty University. She completed medical school at Indiana University School of Medicine and did her residency training in family medicine. She also completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Palmetto Richland Hospital. She is board certified in family medicine and holds a CAQ in sports medicine. Dr. Wilson has served as a team physician for multiple high schools, USC Upstate, and the University of South Carolina. With her fellowship training in sports medicine, she has a special interest in the musculoskeletal injuries of female athletes.
