Research Training before Conducting Human Subject Research

All researchers (principal investigators, co-investigators, other research staff, and students) involved in human subject research must complete training before a requested study protocol is approved and/or before research is conducted. This requirement must be accomplished via the CITI Training Course by reviewing any specific institutional instructions and choosing the appropriate Learner Group on the CITI web page.

Once there, click on the link New Users Register Here. Under Participating Institutions, select Greenville Health System from the drop down box. Next, proceed to create your own username and password and enter your e-mail address.

ReminderAfter completing all the required fields on this page, scroll back up and double check to make sure that “Greenville Health System” is still the Participating Institution before proceeding to the next page to complete all the required fields, then selecting the appropriate Learner Group.

Upon completion of the course, learners should print two copies of the completion certificates, one for your personal records and one to be kept at the site as documentation of IRB research ethics and education completion.

Researchers and staff from other institutions should contact the IRB Coordinator(s) at GHS before registering and completing a GHS CITI Training Course.
