Palmetto Gold
Nursing Awards
The Palmetto Gold Award by the South Carolina Nurses Foundation,
Inc. is presented for excellence in nursing practices and commitment to
profession.
The South Carolina Nurses Foundation began the Palmetto Gold Award
and scholarship recognition program in 2002. The program was formed to showcase
the valuable contributions nurses make to patient care in our state
and raising funds to endow scholarships for registered nurse students are the
purpose of this organization. Established in 1974, SCNF is one of the oldest
nursing endowments in the country and continues in it charitable, scientific,
literary and educational role. This program offers nurse employers across the state the opportunity to
nominate outstanding nurses.
Selection Criteria Includes:
- Promotes and advances the profession of nursing in a positive way in the practice setting or in the community.
- Displays caring and commitment to patients, families and colleagues.
- Demonstrates leadership and assists others in growth and development.
- Contributes to overall outcomes in the practice area/setting.
