Girls on the Run (for ages 8-11) and Girls on Track (for ages 12-15) promote development of all aspects of a young woman's development and well-being: physically, emotionally, mentally, socially and spiritually.
GHS-led prevention programs Safe Kids ™ Upstate and ThinkFirst® help parents and children make good safety decisions in everyday life, so that a hospital or emergency room visit can be avoided entirely. Safe Kids Upstate brings together more than 70 community partners to plan community events and educational programs that encourage kids and parents to be safe at home, school and play. ThinkFirst is a teen-focused brain and spine injury risk-management program sponsored by the Roger C. Peace Rehabilitation Hospital. Educational programming and Voices for Injury Prevention speakers encourage teens to take a moment and think about the possible consequences before engaging in risky behavior.
