Dr. Richard Hawkins Presents at ICSES in Korea
The 13th International Congress of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Conference was held in Jeju, South Korea on May 18-20th, 2016. Dr. Richard Hawkins was ICL Moderator and presenter of “Decision Making in Massive Rotator Cuff Tears” and also The Neer Lecture – “The Journey Through Life and Orthopaedics”. This lecture is quite an honor and is named for Dr. Charles Neer, founding member and first President of the American Shoulder and Elbow Society, and Dr. Hawkins was his first shoulder fellow at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City in 1975. Many of the Korean orthopaedic physicians have trained with Dr. Hawkins over the years through a Traveling Fellowship, as well as orthopaedic physicians from Japan.

The Future of Orthopaedic Medicine
At the Hawkins Foundation, we are helping to shape the future of orthopaedic medicine.
Once thought to be only for athletes, orthopaedic medicine is now recognized as a building block to a healthy lifestyle for all people, of all ages and from all walks of life. Good health is becoming even more important as the Baby Boomer works to stay more active and maintain a healthy, independent lifestyle.
Strong bones, healthy tissue and functioning joints make it possible for all of us to continue embracing life now and for future generations. At the Hawkins Foundation, we want to help make this possible!
