GHS is a training site for medical students from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. USCSOM-Greenville is a separately accredited medical program of the University of South Carolina and a synergistic partnership between the state's largest University and the state's largest public hospital. In 2006, GHS became the 97th member to join University HealthSystem Consortium (UHC). Becoming part of this university medical center group requires demonstrating excellence in service and in teaching.
