Honor the compassion and care that nurses provide their patients every day.

The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses at Greenville Health System (GHS)

The DAISY Award was established by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at 33 of ITP, an auto-immune disease. The Barnes family was awestruck by the clinical skills, caring and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick, and they created this national award to say “thank you” to nurses everywhere.

DAISY Awards, coordinated by GHS’ Nursing Recruitment and Retention Council, will be presented quarterly to nurses at each campus and with GHS University Medical Group practices.

Nominations will be considered on an ongoing basis for each quarter's DAISY Awards.
