From a Recent Graduate

“The residency program here at the Greenville Memorial Hospital has been a blessing for me in many ways. I feel that as a 3rd year resident I have learned so much about how to properly care for patients of every kind, from outpatient to inpatient, from newborn nursery to PICU. We are exposed to a multitude of diagnoses here, from the common cold to many of the “zebras” you read about in journals. Our attendings are all wonderful teachers who are extremely knowledgeable in their areas of expertise, and they go the extra mile to pass that knowledge on to us. Our program has continued to evolve to give us the best education we can get. Of course, because you are in residency, you will be working pretty hard, but our schedule has allowed us to lead full personal lives too. You will have time to spend with family and friends and to even catch a football game or two. Personally, I have made some great friendships here that I know I will have for life, both with residents and attendings alike. With the people at this program I have found support when I’ve needed it most, not only in my personal life, but also as a pediatrician.”
