Why I chose to come to Greenville for Med-Peds:
I heard about this program from an intern at the time I was applying for residencies and he introduced me to the program. I loved Greenville the first time I came up for my interview. The medicine and pediatrics residents are all excellent doctors and great role models. The faculty, staff, and administrators all do a great job making us feel welcome and cared for and they obviously value your family life. Teaching is a priority and is mixed well with patient care. I am also excited about the international opportunities during residency that Greenville has to offer. The city of Greenville is beautiful and close to the mountains, the beaches, and other big cities such as Atlanta and Charlotte. Downtown Greenville is a great place to hang out with family or pets.

Why I chose to come to Greenville for Med-Peds:
Born and raised in Greenville, I was eager to spread my wings and discover a good med-peds residency program in another state. As I moved along the residency interview trail, however, the program at GHS kept coming back to mind, and I found myself comparing each new program to GHS Med-Peds. Other programs may also have solid academics, but the interpersonal comradeship and positive learning environment make GHS stand out among other good programs. To join this team of excellent residents and attendings is a great honor. Add to that an engaging city, and you have icing on the cake!

Why I chose to come to Greenville for Med-Peds:

I was attracted to Med Peds because I truly love both disciplines. Internal medicine and pediatrics complement each other, and Greenville Med Peds offers deep training in both fields. The  program was the perfect fit for me with warm, compassionate people and an academically rigorous and well-organized curriculum. I visited GHS as a 4th year student, and I instantly loved the program, facilities, and city. Residents here have a strong med peds identity, but fit in well and work well with those in each of the sister departments. I also saw in the residents a level of competency/proficiency I hope to eventually have, which was motivating! The faculty in all three departments (IM, Peds, MP) were impressive because of their obvious love of teaching.

I can’t imagine a better place to live than Greenville. There are awesome restaurants, shops, parks, and outdoor attractions. It’s also pretty safe and clean, and the downtown is vibrant!

Why I chose to come to Greenville for Med-Peds:

I initially limited my residency program search to the East Coast. We knew we would like to be close to my husband's family, but, coming from Texas, the East Coast was close! I am also much more of a warm weather person, so I knew I did not want anywhere too far North. Greenville was the perfect fit for so many reasons: Greenville itself has so many neat activities to partake in from the outdoor concert series to the Greenville Drive baseball games, not to mention the easy access the city provides to hiking, biking, jogging and the like. What stood out to me most though was the Med-Peds program itself. Everyone is so great here. The faculty are very knowledgeable and helpful, and even those who are not Med-Peds faculty welcome the Med-Peds residents as their own. The residents within the program are by far the most well-adjusted residents I met while interviewing, and the program has a truly family friendly mentality.
