A structured series of didactic lectures and conferences are offered to complement residents' individual study and patient care experience.

FACULTY TEACHING CONFERENCES - Twice weekly at noon, full-time faculty members conduct teaching conferences. These conferences generally focus on a current service case, followed by a detailed discussion of pathophysiology, differential diagnosis, and management

PULMONARY X-RAY CONFERENCE - A weekly morning conference that includes a review of patients’ relevant radiographic findings

EKG TEACHING CONFERENCE – Once monthly 18-part interactive series that is taught by the electrophysiologists

CLINICOPATHOLOGIC CONFERENCE - Monthly conference discussing a case having pathologic or autopsy material. A clinical representative, a radiologist, and a pathologist present this multi-disciplinary conference

BUSINESS OF MEDICINE CONFERENCE – Popular monthly lecture series covering business topics related to the practice of medicine

RESIDENTS' PRESENTATION - Monthly conference in which residents present case discussions to peers and faculty

MEDICINE UPDATE AND DIRECTION (MUD) - Monthly conference for internal medicine residents and faculty only. Residents also have an opportunity to give feedback to faculty on teaching service activities

JOURNAL CLUB - Faculty-led discussions reviewing recent articles and discussion of article critique methods

BOARD REVIEW - Twice a month, each pertinent field is discussed in a board review format.

NOT NECESSARILY MEDICINE - Monthly conference covers selected subjects outside the traditional scientific curriculum, including medical ethics, medical/legal issues, quality assurance, peer review, and medical care in developing countries.

GRAND ROUNDS - Weekly conference with presentations by a blend of local and national experts.
