Prepared Childbirth Classes at Greer Memorial
The Maternal-Infant Unit at Greer Memorial Hospital sponsors a four week series or an all day Saturday class for expectant parents. These Prepared Childbirth Classes are designed for patients who are planning to deliver at Greer Memorial. Classes are taught by Maternal-Infant nurses. The Prepared Childbirth series at Greer Memorial Hospital begins the first Tuesday of every other month beginning in January. These classes are held 7-9 pm. The Saturday Prepared Childbirth Class is offered one Saturday a month from 9 am- 4 pm.
Topics covered in these classes include:
- Changes during late pregnancy
- Labor management (including hydrotherapy, relaxation techniques, IV medications and epidurals)
- Delivery expectations
- Infant care basics (including breast feeding)
- Postpartum care for mothers
Please register for the class by your fifth month of pregnancy.
The cost is $25.00 for the four week series of $35.00 for the all day Saturday class. A tour of the Maternal- Infant suite will also be offered. For more information or to register for a Prepared Childbirth class, please call (864) 797-8700.

Take Hwy. 14/Exit 56 toward Pelham/Greer. Turn left onto Hwy. 14 West; proceed for approximately three miles. Turn left onto South Buncombe Road. After about one mile, turn left onto Medical Parkway at Greer Medical Campus, and follow the signs.
From Allen Bennett Memorial Hospital:
Follow West Wade Hampton Boulevard for a little over a mile. Turn left at South Buncombe Road/Hwy. 290. Drive for approximately 1.5 miles. Just past West Road, turn right onto Medical Parkway at Greer Medical Campus; follow the signs.
