Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center (GHS) is pleased to offer education classes and programs to improve your family’s health. Here is a list of upcoming offerings. Most of these are free of charge, but registration is required.

Smoking Cessation Support Group
Greenville Hospital System offers a number of free smoking cessation support groups. Call 455-WELL (9355) for dates, times and locations.  

Greenville Hospital System Pink in the Rink
Greenville Hospital System is partnering with the Greenville Road Warriors to raise awareness of breast cancer during the March 2 Road Warriors game at the Bi-Lo Center. The ice will be pink and players will wear pink jerseys that will be auctioned off to benefit the Mary Kay Foundation. A women’s hockey 101 clinic will take place before the game. GHS Centennial 5K & Half-marathon
Greenville Hospital System and On On Tri will host the first-ever GHS Centennial 5K and Half-marathon on Saturday, March 10. Race starts at 8 a.m. at Gateway Park in Travelers Rest and continues on the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail. Deadline to register is March 8. To register, visit www.active.com.

Kidney Screening
Those with high blood pressure, diabetes or a family history of these conditions or kidney disease are encouraged to get screened on Saturday, March 10, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., at the West End Community Development Center. girl•ology
This program is designed to ease the transition into puberty for girls in 4th or 5th grade. Girls are invited to attend the program with their mothers on Sunday, March 11 or 25, 2:30-4:30 p.m., at Greenville Hospital System’s Patewood Medical Campus. Fee: $50 for mom and daughter.
