Patients with brain cancer receive coordinated and comprehensive care at one location through the Greenville Hospital System Neuro-Oncology Multidisciplinary Center (MDC). Experienced medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and neurosurgeons use a focused approach to the treatment brain cancer and brain metastasis. The Neuro-Oncology MDC is supported by the Greenville Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP), Greenville Hospital System researchers, and radiology and pathology experts.
GHS Neuro-Oncology MDC services include:
Assessment of new patients with suspected or recently diagnosed brain tumors
Dedicated oncology nurse and scheduler who coordinate various diagnostic imaging and lab services and are direct contact for patients
Re-consultations for patients previously diagnosed with brain cancers and metastisis
24/7 availability of neurosurgical staff for ER and in-house consultations for brain malignancies
Stereotactic diagnostic procedures for brain tumors
