Neurodiagnostic Center

Greenville Hospital System Neurodiagnostic Center specializes in diagnostic procedures for brain and nervous system problems, including seizures, metabolic disorders, brain injury, epilepsy, stroke, scoliosis, and orthopaedic disorders.

Using the most advanced technology, the Neurodiagnostic Center can:

  • Diagnose and evaluate medical disorders within the brain, brain stem, peripheral nerves, spinal cord, and nervous system

  • Monitor, observe, and record functions in the brain and nervous system during surgery

  • Measure and transmit data directly from the operating room to a physician’s office

  • Perform long-term epilepsy monitoring


Other services offered at the Greenville Hospital System Neurodiagnostic Center include:

  • Routine and complex EEGs to measure the electrical activity of the brain through sensors attached to the scalp
  • Long-term epilepsy monitoring for children and adults (unique in the Upstate)
  • Potentials testing to measure the electrical activity of nerves by stimulating auditory, visual, motor or other nerves. The changes in electrical activity are recorded and analyzed by computer)
  • Auditory screenings for infants
  • Intraoperative monitoring of the peripheral nervous system
  • Nerve conduction studies
  • Brain mapping


The medical director of the Neurodiagnostic Center is a board-certified neurologist with expertise in neurophysiology. The team includes a board-certified epileptologist, adult and pediatric neurologists and neurosurgeons, registered EEG technologists, and consultants to the Epilepsy Foundation of America’s Greenville office.
