Oncology MDC

A well-coordinated group of cancer specialists provides the only true team approach to cancer care in the region at theOncology Multidisciplinary Center at the Greenville Hospital System Cancer Center. After seeing the patient, a medical oncologist, surgical oncologist, and radiation oncologist meet as a team to discuss treatment options, including potential involvement in clinical trials. Patients receive a comprehensive plan of care — all in one visit.

The Oncology Multidisciplinary Center is coordinated by a dedicated oncology nurse experienced in inpatient oncology care, critical care, and oncology critical care management to ensure the delivery of first-time diagnosis or self-referred second opinions in a timely manner. This effective interdisciplinary approach is currently being offered for thoracic oncology, neuro-oncology, gastrointestinal oncology, genito-urinary oncology, and melanoma/sarcoma.

Personalized care is provided throughout the patient's treatment and recovery period by oncology nurse navigators, who are certified oncology nurses with extensive training and experience in all facets of cancer care.

Appointments to Greenville Hospital System Cancer Center Oncology Multidisciplinary Center for first-time diagnosis are made by physician referral only and coordinated by calling 864-455-4968. Self-referrals are accepted for second opinions.
