The Children's Hospital Child and Adolescent Psychiatry division uses a multidisciplinary team drawn from the disciplines of psychiatry, pediatrics, nursing, psychology, social work, and behavioral therapy to evaluate, diagnose, and treat the emotional, behavioral, and psychological problems of children and adolescents through age 18.
After determining both the emotional and physical aspects of a child's condition, an individualized treatment plan is established, including art occupations, music, recreational, and individual, group, and family therapies. Inpatient and acute care programs are available for patients as young as 8 years while outpatient and day treatment programs are available for all ages.
Dual diagnosis, stress, depression, and psychoses are just a few of the conditions our specialists diagnose and treat with the goal of getting the child back to the home and school environment with a healthy self-image and mechanisms for handling problems.
