Adolescent Medicine

Adolescent patients receive diagnostic and therapeutic services in the Adolescent Clinic, which is located in the Children's Hospital Center for Pediatric Medicine.

Adolescent preventive services are emphasized for both medical and emotional problems. A multidisciplinary approach to health care is included through cooperative efforts with the departments of Social Service, Obstetrics-Gynecology, Internal Medicine, and Psychiatry.

Emphasis is placed on routine healthcare maintenance and includes psychosocial, dietary, and medical interventions. Evaluation and follow-up of children alleged to have been physically and/or sexually abused also are available. Telephone consultations are welcomed as are referrals from community-based physicians.
