Choosing a Rehabilitation Hospital

Most of us never think about rehabilitation services. But when an unexpected illness or injury occurs, we are faced with many decisions, among them: What services do I need? What can I expect in quality of care? How much will it cost?

Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center Roger C. Peace Hospital-Rehabilitation is accredited by the Joint Commissions on Accreditation of Healthcare Facilities. Furthermore, the hospital's brain injury, spinal cord injury, pediatric rehabilitation and outpatient brain injury programs are the only programs of their kind in the state that are accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). This means that the hospital and its specialized programs meets the highest standards for rehabilitative care.

We hope that the following information can help you make an informed decision should you or someone you love need the services of a rehabilitation facility.

Achieving accreditation through this consultative peer-review process demonstrates a commitment to the continuous improvement of programs and services. CARF promotes and assures standards of quality for accredited programs and focuses on optimal outcomes for persons served. Roger C. Peace Hospital also monitors quality of care through responses from patient surveys, which consistently report high patient satisfaction scores as well as a high “return to home” rate for all programs.

Are services provided by specialized staff?
