Faculty
The Pediatric Program includes 67 full- and part-time faculty. All are board certified and most are fellowship trained and certified by a pediatric subspecialty board. The general pediatrician has the immediate support of any subspecialist to work together for the good of the patients.
William F. Schmidt, M.D., Ph.D, the Medical Director and Administrator of the Children's Hospital, attended Duke University, and completed his residency and a fellowship in Pediatric Hematology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Schmidt is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. A close-knit relationship also exists among the Children's Hospital, the teaching program, and community pediatricians.
